SA 537 CL.2 PLATES

A537 CLASS 2 STEEL PLATE, ASTM A537 CL.2 BOILER QUALITY STEEL PLATES, SA537 STEEL PLATES, SA537 CLASS 2 STEEL PLATESThese are high-quality plates that are considered best for their high strength, toughness, and hardness. These types of plates are manufactured using A537 class 2 steel which is an alloy that contains manganese, silicon, and carbon.

A537 CLASS 2 STEEL PLATE, ASTM A537 CL.2 BOILER QUALITY STEEL PLATES, SA537 STEEL PLATES, SA537 CLASS 2 STEEL PLATES

  • These are high-quality plates that are considered best for their high strength, toughness, and hardness. These types of plates are manufactured using A537 class 2 steel which is an alloy that contains manganese, silicon, and carbon. This kind of alloy steel grade is extensively used in the fabrication process and manufactured for heat exchangers, pressurized tanks, and boilers.
  • The a537 Class 2 Plate is heat treated using tempered and quenched methods and other material used for manufacturing these plates has yield strength, higher tensile strength, and corrosion resistance. The raw material is well-tested and inspected and used according to the international quality standard.
  • These types of plates are widely used in industries like the petrochemical industry, oil and gas industry, and more. There are several leading manufacturers available who offer a wide range of class 2 plates with complete certification and specification.

Well, if we talk about the specification of such plates it includes various grades and standards.

  • This grade is commonly used in pressure vessel applications where low temperature resistance to notch sensitivity is needed and added strength levels are needed.
  • Class 1 is normalized and the tensile is in the 70,000 – 90,000 level.
  • Class 2 is quenched and tempered with a tensile range of 80,000 – 100,000. Minimum yield strength for class 1 is 50,000 and for class 2 is 60,000.

SPECIFICATION

  • Grade ASME SA 537 CL.2 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Steel Plates
  • Width 1000mm-4500mm
  • Thickness 5mm-150mm
  • Length 3000mm-18000mm.

Supply Condition As Rolled, Normalized Rolling, Furnace Normalizing, Vacuum Degassing, Simulated Post-Weld Heat Treatment, or as per customer requirement.

Impact tested -52° C

Tempering Notch toughness can be improved by quenched cooling from hot rolling or normalizing by the supplier. If such a faster cooling rate is agreed upon between the purchaser and supplier then the steel is also to be tempered at 1200 F. Applications Used for Boilers and Pressure Vessels Application.

Process of Manufacturing Hot-Rolled (HR) Testing-

The test requirements or needs can be easily fulfilled through a test like chemical composition analysis, material grain size determination, line discontinuities, freedom from defects, tolerance and dimensions, bend test, tensile test, Charpy impact test, and ultrasonic test. Some other test includes the Destructive test or nondestructive test, Mechanical test, tensile test, hardness test, micro & macro test, positive material test, intergranular corrosion test, flattening test, and flaring test.
